MICHAEL MORGAN

As an avid animal advocate, I am excited to share the seven paintings in this collection for the benefit of The Alice Fund.  These works were inspired by my love of animals, as well as by my need to express myself through the creation of art that elicits emotion from the viewer – be it love, hate or a feeling of intrigue by the way the subject matter is portrayed.

Although I work with a variety of media, watercolor is currently my favorite; it is a challenging medium that allows the artist to produce a complex piece using a minimum of space.

For as long as I can remember, I have been compelled by art.  I became a student of George Little at the age of 14, and through the years I studied with Frank O. Swanson and Wayne Wu.

Painting offers me an outlet to express myself and allows me to portray the subject in a different light, possibly giving the viewer a contrasting perspective by seeing it through my eyes and my interpretation.  While I consider my work to be realistic, I hope to capture the essence of each subject in a somewhat impressionistic style.

I hope you enjoy my paintings of animals, probably my favorite subject.
